Sexual Acts

This optional coverage provides protection for covered claims against your ministry arising out of alleged sexual misconduct sustained by persons not employed by you. Coverage is also provided for claims of sexual harassment that are made by persons not employed by you. Additionally, because employees and ministry workers can be falsely accused of sexual misconduct, we also provide defined defense coverage for an alleged perpetrator who denies involvement in the alleged sexual act. While we continue to defend the insured organization for covered claims, our obligation to defend the alleged perpetrator ends when that person enters into a plea agreement, pleads guilty or "no contest," or is criminally convicted in relation to the sexual act. We will also reimburse, up to a limit, counseling fees you pay to an eligible outside counseling provider on behalf of the person against whom a covered sexual act was directed.
